There are one BILLION people living on the Earth today that don't have access to clean drinking water. That's just under 1/6th of us. When people don't have access to clean water, they resort to drinking from dirty sources, causing disease and often death. Over half of the world's hospitalizations are due to water-related diseases. More people die from disease due to lack of sanitation and access to clean water than any current war, including almost 3 million children each year (water.org). Just $1,500 can give 75 people clean water.
