A couple weeks ago I heard Scott Harrison, the founder of charity:water, tell the story of this mighty non-profit that has raised millions to give access to clean water for the corners of the world that need it the most.

100% of the public donations go directly to the well construction in dry communities; the operational costs are taken care of through a separate network of private donors...so you know exactly where your money is going when you give.

I was nothing short of inspired at the ways regular people were making a difference through simple yet powerful social campaigns just like this one.

So I decided it would be cool to follow suit and give up my 24th birthday (November 29) this year, asking friends and family to donate $24 to reach the goal of giving 24 people clean water and a better life.

Instead of buying me a drink for one night, you can buy someone else a drink for twenty years!
